Good Eats near Beomgye Station: A Boulangerie Cafe Review

Good Eats near Beomgye Station: A Boulangerie Cafe Review

Translated from the Korean original.

Beomgye Station Plaza

This is Beomgye Station in Anyang, a place I visit every now and then. Whenever I go to Beomgye Station, I end up stopping by the Lotte Department Store or the NC Newcore Outlet right next to it.

In winter, the Community Chest of Korea runs its fundraising campaign there, as you can see. The cleaning staff from the Lotte Department Store come out often, so the plaza is always spotless. The only downside is all the pigeons… and the people who feed them… sigh. These days it is banned, apparently. Anyway, if you go further inside there are benches and tables, so in summer I sometimes get a takeaway coffee there with friends and settle in for a chat.

It is spacious and clean, which makes it one of my favorite public spaces. ^^ And in the NC Newcore Outlet next to it there is a bakery cafe I really want to introduce to you – the ‘Boulangerie’ bakery.

Is that morning menu not incredibly tempting? It must be such a perk for the office workers who commute around here. In times like these with prices so high, a cream cheese bagel set – and with an iced americano included – for just KRW 4,900? That is remarkably generous, is it not? Haha.

This is the kind of place it is~~~ haha. And no, I have absolutely no connection to it, haha.

Boulangerie’s signature apple bread
By around 6 p.m. the bread is all gone~~
The staff are incredibly friendly~ It seems like the owner puts a lot of care into training them~~

There is only one register, so at peak times the line stretches a good five meters. Sigh. When customers in their 60s and older are unsure about app points or phone-number registration and keep asking, the staff answer every question patiently and kindly. Of course, that also means I end up waiting a very long time just to order one coffee.

Even at a hospital, I find myself watching how the nurses treat the patients. It tells you something about the director’s management philosophy, or how sincerely they care about patients. Haha. Anyway, I got the feeling that the manager and the owner of this store are probably people like that. In any case, the coffee here is good, too.

Sadly I did not get photos of the drinks and the bread that day, but I highly recommend it. There is a wide variety of bread and the coffee is delicious~~

It was 6 p.m., so the seats that had been packed solid in the afternoon were completely empty, haha.

I recommend it as an easygoing cafe near Beomgye Station where both the bread and the coffee are good.

That was part three of my regular cafes~~ I would love to hear what your own regular cafe is.

Please recommend away in the comments~!! ^^
