Cheonggyecheon Eats: Abebe Bakery’s Cream Doughnuts in Seoul

Cheonggyecheon Eats: Abebe Bakery’s Cream Doughnuts in Seoul

Translated from the Korean original.

Ah~~~ it is already past midnight… and looking at this photo makes me want one again.. T_T I honestly had not heard of this bakery.. I was walking past the front of it

when I saw a queue of people waiting and thought, what is this? Is it somewhere famous? But why here, not in Gangnam or another hot neighborhood — why in Jongno, and in a quiet spot round the back at that?

That is what I wondered as I walked past it several times, haha. Then one of these very pastries turned up on an acquaintance’s blog.. heh. Ah~~ so it was a famous bakery.. I have to

try it at least once.. I had been meaning to, and then I happened to have business in Jongno.. I parked and walked over

and by chance I passed this place. It was a factory. This must be where they are made, haha.

Past the bread factory and past the Cheonggye 5-ga bus stop, there is a waiting line set up outside — not a police line, a queue line. That day was a weekday afternoon, and

luckily I got in right away without waiting.. and there they were, these delicious cream doughnuts, haha. Ah, I am hungry.. you can tell how creamy they are just by looking, can’t you?

I held back a lot and bought only five.. They are so packed with cream inside that even one has real weight to it. It was my first time buying, so I went for the bestsellers only.

They ship nationwide through Baemin too.. no need to come all the way to Jongno and wait!!

What a convenient world we live in.. though they say talking like that makes you an old-timer.. hahaha

I badly needed the toilet, so I went up to the second-floor store.. and that is where I ran into trouble.. it was a unisex toilet and two people were already queuing ahead of me.

I waited, thinking they would be out any second. Five minutes, ten minutes, even past fifteen minutes and still nobody came out T_T Ah.. there was a reason I had come here even just for the toilet

… I really did show my patience .. but there was nothing I could do about the frown lines between my brows. Heh

And then the person who came out of the toilet was — surprise~~~ a man, hahaha. How embarrassed he must have been, hahaha On top of that his girlfriend was sitting nearby, so

he kept looking over at the women standing in line.. no wonder he kept glancing our way. Anyway, I left my bread shopping bag on an empty table.. and off to the toilet, heh

The second-floor store is tidy too, isn’t it? Plenty of people were eating in here as well.. Hmm~~ if I go again I will want to buy more, hahaha

If you like cream doughnuts, do give these a try ^^
