An IKEA Shopping Guide for Newlyweds

An IKEA Shopping Guide for Newlyweds

Translated from the Korean original.

IKEA — a must-visit for interior lovers and newlyweds!! Have you been already?

IKEA Gwangmyeong, 17 Iljik-ro, Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi-do / 890 m from Exit 1 of Gwangmyeong Station

Hours : Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri 11 : 00 ~ 20 : 30 / Sat Sun 10 : 00 ~ 21 : 00

Ugh… the photo came out shaky.ㅠ I parked, so I couldn’t get a shot of the exterior. IKEA Gwangmyeong is right next to Gwangmyeong Station and

the signage is done in blue and yellow.

So it stands out — anyone can tell at a glance that it’s IKEA.

I think it’s because blue is the color of the Swedish flag. Around IKEA Gwangmyeong there is also Costco and the Lotte Outlet Mall, so I’d recommend browsing all of them while you’re there. The Lotte Outlet Mall is connected to IKEA

You start at the second-floor showrooms. Honestly it’s so vast, with so many items and so many showrooms, that photographing everything was impossible.

Leave the lighting for your home to me!! — that’s the level it’s at hehe

This corner has all sorts of small goods, and do you see those things stacked up on the right that look like roof tiles?

You’ve figured out what those ‘roof tiles’ are, right? hehe The photo doesn’t capture them all, but they’re all storage boxes.

Besides here, there’s a whole room further back lined with boxes too. Normally I go to Daiso — and of course Daiso has plenty of kinds — but sometimes the size I need

isn’t there, so I’d end up buying something roughly similar… But if you need lots of storage boxes, or you have a specific size in mind, then this place,

IKEA, is what I strongly recommend !!!!

These are alllll mugs… I only shot one wall, but it’s cups upon cups in every direction… I had another appointment that day so I didn’t get to photograph the prices

but they say IKEA isn’t all that expensive, so even if you don’t buy anything it seems fun just to look.

I’m a bit calmer about it now, but I used to love dishes so much… if this had been the old days my head would have spun and I’d never have made it out haha

Sturdy plastic, solid lids and latches, and above all I loved the color — that ecru?? shade that looks clean wherever you put it

I think the price is reasonable at that level. Cheaper would be nicer, of course ^^::

But if the store is so huge and you want to find quickly whether the item you want is there and where it is, then this product search terminal

is what you use. You can scan the QR code to see how it works.

And inside the store there are traffic-style direction signs like that… Gives you a sense of how big it is, right? hehe

Come down to the first floor and there are the checkout counters and the exchange and refund desk… And I failed to get a photo again^^:: but there’s also a small Swedish food shop

The range isn’t huge, but there are sauces, cookies, spaghetti, cheeses and even frozen foods, so do drop in.

And do have that famous under-KRW-1,000 hot dog as a snack ^^ After shopping here I went straight through the connecting passage over to the Lotte Outlet Mall. I remember it being connected on the first floor^^::

For all of you interested in home furnishing, I recommend a visit^^
