Grocery Shopping at Hansalim

Grocery Shopping at Hansalim

Translated from the Korean original.

The reddish photo startled you, didn’t it? What they call butcher-shop lighting heh

I’m not quite sure myself why this photo turned out like this.

When I posted about grocery shopping at Hanaro Mart yesterday, I promised to also show you Hansalim, No Brand and the agricultural and fisheries market that I go to often, right?

Do you use Hansalim?

This is a place that sells mainly to co-op members. If you pay a joining fee of about KRW 30,000 when you first sign up, you can buy at member prices

Since it’s a place that takes in and sells goods from farms and livestock producers that grow and produce without adding ingredients or materials harmful to the body,

I buy here with confidence

I’ve been a member for almost 7 years?, but I only buy the things I buy. Since the products are good for you, the prices are on the higher side

Everything is produced here in Korea. Let me introduce the products I mostly buy.

  1. First, the fish cake at the very top, with a high pollock content. The pollock content is almost 60%, so eaten raw it’s nutty and savory heh

I’m a fish-cake killer, so if I try a piece raw before cooking I can tell how good it is haha

With this one I eat about two sheets raw before I even start cooking haha

There isn’t much in the pack to begin with, and since I eat two sheets raw, by the time I actually make it into a side dish there’s hardly any left ….ㅠ haha

And yet it’s so tasty that I end up eating it anyway — that’s the trap haha

2. Toothpaste. It’s free of 7 harmful ingredients, so my family always uses this toothpaste, and at this level the price is kind too

I sometimes give it as a small gift, too.

3. Jeju traditional fish sauce (eoganjang)

I haven’t actually used this one myself — I gave it as a gift. Anyone who knows their way around cooking will know it/

Eoganjang!! And Jeju traditional eoganjang at that, so it has an even deeper flavor and plenty of uses in cooking.

4. Puffed rice candy

When I was little, my mom used to make puffed rice candy herself as a snack during the school holidays

Sometimes I buy some for the memories.. It’s delicious haha

5. Seaweed stems

Do you often make it as a side dish? Along with stir-fried potato, it’s a national side dish, isn’t it?

My family likes it, so I buy it now and then and stir-fry it. It comes cleanly trimmed, so it’s easy to cook

Hmm.. I should buy some next time I go. Suddenly I want to eat it haha

6. Tofu

This is the Hansalim tofu I stock up on even when there’s tofu at home already

It’s famously delicious. This tofu tastes great even eaten plain, uncooked.

Those of you who like tofu, you must try it!

7. Organic vegetable extract drink

I bought some this time when I went to visit someone in hospital . The reaction was wonderful

You’ve heard of witch’s soup, right? I think it’s that sort of thing

I haven’t drunk it myself, but since it’s water simmered from 5 kinds of organic vegetables, it makes a good gift for a hospital visit or a visit to your parents’ home.

8. Organic sweet pumpkin protein powder

I haven’t tried this one either haha Someone asked me to, so I bought it for them

I thought about buying some myself to help with dieting, then got a shock when I saw the price. Is protein powder normally that much?

I’ve never bought any before. But since all the ingredients are domestic, even at that price it goes into your own body, so for those who want to buy protein

I think you can buy it with confidence

9. Apples and pears

The fruit here is grown with almost no pesticides, so the produce doesn’t look perfectly clean. That doesn’t mean it tastes bad, though,

so I bought some to take on another hospital visit. Even people who aren’t Hansalim members know how the products sold here are grown

Everyone knows, so they were all pleased when I gave it as a gift..

Besides the products above, I sometimes buy Spanish mackerel and soft tofu, and they’re delicious!!

Where do you do your shopping? And which products do you buy most often, and most of?

Do let me know~~~^^
